Position Overview:

Our organization is seeking an exceptionally skilled and visionary Data Scientist III to enhance our data services team's capabilities. As a senior member of our team, the Data Scientist III will spearhead advanced analytics projects, leveraging cutting-edge data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making at the highest levels. This role demands a deep and comprehensive understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualization, and AI technologies, including Generative AI (GenAI). With responsibility for leading complex and high-impact projects, the ideal candidate will demonstrate not only technical expertise but also a strong ability to communicate with stakeholders across the organization. You will lead efforts in data collection, preprocessing, analysis, predictive modeling, and the development of sophisticated machine learning algorithms. Additionally, you will ensure that data insights are communicated effectively, utilizing platform-agnostic visualization techniques. Holding an advanced degree and boasting a proven ability to push boundaries in data science, you will significantly contribute to shaping our data-driven strategies and fostering innovation.

Job Description:

  • Lead the development of data models, reports, and visualizations, aligning with the organization's Data Strategy and addressing complex business challenges.
  • Oversee data collection, preprocessing, including working with structured and unstructured data, and perform advanced analysis.
  • Architect and refine data models to uncover insights that guide both strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Utilize data visualization techniques to present insights to a diverse audience, ensuring clarity and impact.
  • Spearhead the identification of valuable data sources and automate collection processes to enhance analytical efficiency.
  • Design and implement advanced prediction systems and machine learning algorithms, setting new standards for innovation in analytics.
  • Champion the organization’s Data Strategy, driving its adoption and ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Provide expertise in Emerging Technologies, including AI and GenAI, leading initiatives that leverage these tools for breakthrough insights and solutions.
  • Deliver superior data science and analytics services, adhering to the highest standards and architectural guidelines.
  • Create and deliver insightful presentations showcasing executive presence to business leaders, with thoughtful and strategic actionable recommendations.
  • Exhibit leadership in stakeholder communication, driving projects forward with autonomy and authority.
  • Conduct complex programming tasks, synthesizing data analytics, and modeling insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science (with a focus on data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence), Statistics, or Applied Mathematics is strongly preferred.
  • At least 4 years of data science work experience delivering end-to-end solutions, demonstrating leadership and the ability to drive projects without support.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical executives.
  • Proficient in programming, with extensive experience in statistical and database programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
  • Deep knowledge in statistics and mathematics, encompassing statistical tests, distributions, linear algebra, calculus, and regression, alongside advanced machine learning methodologies.
  • Expertise in data visualization tools and platforms, with a track record of developing insightful, impactful visualizations.
  • Demonstrated ability in analytical thinking and problem-solving, with a knack for identifying trends and insights that inform strategic decisions.
  • Experience in mentoring junior data scientists, including providing code review and fostering a collaborative, learning-focused environment.
  • Proficiency in data wrangling, validation, and software engineering practices.
  • Openness to exploring new programming languages, mathematical techniques, and staying abreast of advancements in data science and AI.
