Job Description
As a Software Engineering Manager you will build and lead a high performing team of engineers working to build highly-scalable, web-based software. As part of engineering leadership, you will serve as an expert in software design & architecture with a proven track record of executing large initiatives using agile practices.
As a leader, you are passionate about continuously improving our processes, practices and technology stack and help create a culture of high performance.
What you will be doing:
Provide project-based technical leadership within the Engineering Team.
Interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to improve software programs and/or internal WK applications.
Apply specialized expertise and advanced technical knowledge of programming languages and software to perform complex technical assignments .
Lead others in solving complex technical problems, using sophisticated analytical thought to identify innovative solutions.
Translate business needs into capability build up and hiring plans in own teams, play a key role in helping us continue to attract, develop and retain great engineering talentJOB IS FROM: italents.netVIEW.
Foster a diverse and inclusive working environment where everyone can thrive.
Identify blockers, problems or red flags and ensure the teams are aware of these and take timely action to deal with them.
Set performance goals according to employee expectations and company needs and check the progress towards these goals with periodical check-ins, collecting feedback, and giving support and direction.
Collaborate with the recruiting process (candidate screening and interviews) and help define the team composition and the overall organizational design.
Qualifications and skills required:
At least a couple of years’ experience leading people.
Solid understanding of Cloud Application & development.
knowledge of Microsoft .Net programming languages (preferred)
Knowledge of C#, frontend programming languages (Javascript, HTML5, CSS) and SQL Database (preferred).
Knowledge of versioning tools (Git).
Strong knowledge of Agile practices (ideally TDD).
Strong understanding of how to drive a thriving Engineering culture.
Data driven approach to decision making.
Able to implement evaluation criteria and career planning for engineers which address a healthy mix of technical & leadership skills.
Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Fluent in Italian and English.
