Summary
The Medicare Advantage Clinical Analytics team’s mission is to provide data science and analytical support to our partners, promote sustained revenue growth and management, and improve customer value and affordability for Cigna Medicare. We accomplish this through strategic actionable insights, cross-departmental collaboration with our Cigna matrix partners, and driving the business
This role will provide Medicare Advantage clinical and customer data science expertise and will own the applied machine learning, predictive modeling, and decision-making behind all clinical and customer initiatives. A variety of internal and external data sources will be used to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our data science to improve clinical outcomes, customer experience, and business growth and retention. The individual selected for this role will lead a collaborative, cross-functional team of data scientists to solve challenging, open-ended problems and will be able to effectively communicate results and recommendations to a variety of stakeholders, including the Medicare Advantage Senior Leadership team.
Responsibilities
Independently consult with business stakeholders to define and prioritize key strategic projects
Establish data science best practices for the team and the business
Evaluate and enhance the set of models to prioritize and optimize various clinical and customer initiatives
Develop clear and concise materials to communicate products and recommendations to matrix partners
Lead team to effectively and efficiently execute against multiple strategic tasks and deadlines
Ensure quality and integrity of data collected, analyses performed, and presentation to our matrix partners

Provide expert content/professional leadership, understanding business strategy, to best deploy data science solutions that help them achieve business goals in conjunction with manager
Provide individual and team leadership for the team as they grow their capabilities, achieve their career goals, and meet team objectives
Qualifications
8+ years' of work experience in health insurance data science or analytics
Strong familiarity with medical claims data and Medicare product
Strong familiarity with Data Science program languages and tools such as SQL, Python, Teradata, Git, Databrick or comparable
Ability to work with business partners in consultative manner
Strong communication skills (e.g. experience translating complex analyses into easy-to-follow slides/materials)
Ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
Clinical analytics experience highly preferred
Experience managing a virtual team highly preferred
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 138,000 - 230,000 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
