What you'll do
The Data Visualization Platform team at Canadian Tire is revolutionizing the processes, development and systems that enable the business to deliver on a one company, one customer strategy. We are looking for an individual that will fit in as a core member of our team, working collaboratively with stakeholders and consumers to conceptualize, design and develop new solutions and improve the existing ones. By applying vision and expertise, you will promote our current and future strategy with regards to Data Visualization and Analytics. The successful candidate should be passionate about data, business intelligence, analytics, and the concepts of data science and how they can help enhance and grow our retail businesses. In this role, you'll:
Build strong relationships with business partners, shared services, product, and support teams to ensure successful implementations and operations relative to visualization and analytics platform capabilities.
Responsible for enabling business partners to leverage data platforms and visualization/analytics tools leading to improved decision making and increased productivity.
Identify inefficiencies and lead improvement activities in visualization/analytics platform capabilities while also having a strong understanding of the impact on business partner interactions.

Analyze and troubleshoot production issues and provide/implement remediation actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Facilitate and foster discussions leading to alignment and collaborative outcomes.
Own the end-to-end design, development, implementation, and support of all solutions assigned to you.
What you bring
Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.
5+ years experience working within the Business Intelligence/Analytics/Data platform domains.
Demonstratable development and/or administration experience with visualization tools such as:
Power BI, ThoughtSpot, Tableau, MicroStrategy
Knowledge in data modelling, data management, data warehouse design, data storage/archive/purging practices.
Strong SQL skills and ETL tool knowledge and/or experience.
Experience working within an Agile delivery framework.
An organized and self-starter approach to accomplish responsible work items.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex messages and stories both IT and Business.
Business and data analysis skills to gather requirements and translate to technical requirements.
A solid understanding of the concepts of information and data governance.
Be self driven and can multi-task and work on multiple projects at the same time under tight deadlines.
Ability to navigate ambiguity and simplify complex scenarios with keen business acumen.
A strategic and innovative mindset and is enthusiastic about automation, wherever possible.
Willingness to learn and explore new tools and technologies in Data Management and Cloud Technologies
Nice to Have:
Some programming knowledge.
Knowledge of the Retail Industry and Canadian Tire
Experience with Windows, Linux, and AIX servers.
Knowledge of Azure Products and Services.
