Looking for a new challenge within a core Business function? This might be of interest as the challenge here has a tangible impact with immediate feedback and results.

This role is for an Expert or Senior SQL Developer who can work with limited supervision on a medium-to-large scale project focussed on salary calculations. This will be a technical role with core responsibility to develop SQL code on a Databricks platform, document Business logic and work with Business Customers on requirements that evolve on a quarterly basis.

Initial goals are to focus on refining existing code (including detailed QA) and increase the number of staff roles reported on. Future tasks will focus on front end system reports, improvements to existing codebase and addition of non-standard roles to the overall framework.

Partner interaction across multiple time-zones is vital as we will have support based in India while primary partners are based in UK and West Coast USA (California). The ideal candidate will need to be responsible for self-adjusting working hours to suit meeting schedules based around California Partners, but this will not be a daily occurrence as the role is normally based on UK Office hours.

The candidate will be self-motivated with sufficient Analyst experience to investigate datasets, work with Partners to refine Business Requirements and be able to translate between Business and Technical when reviewing solutions/code. Use of formal IT Project documentation is not vital as this is all logged via JIRA tickets, online Wiki’s and Corporate GitHub sites (IE IT documentation standard processes still apply, but formal documents are not necessary).

Key Skills Required

  • SQL coding for minimum of 7 years
  • Data requirement gathering and documentation
  • Experience working with JIRA, GitHub and Wiki tools
  • Business Partner management

Bonus Skills

  • Dashboard building experience in Power BI and/or Tableau
  • Experience with data analytics – preference given to Databricks familiarity
  • Python – useful potential tool for some aspects of project
