Institutional Banking Data Platform (IDP) is state-of-the-art cloud platform engineered to streamline data ingestion, transformation and data distribution workflows that underpin Regulatory Reporting, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Quants and Trader Surveillance.
In your role as Software Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability of the platform, performing maintenance and support activities, and driving innovative process improvements that add significant business value

As a Staff Software Engineer you will play a pivotal role in the team, working within a cross-functional squad responsible for the technical design, development, and rollout of CTC customer experiences through CBA’s CommBiz 2.0. We are looking for someone to join our team who is passionate about creating transformative digital experiences who thrives in a collaborative environment and is constantly pushing the boundaries to help deliver outcomes that define future industry trends.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead the front-end platform development: implement scalable, high-performance front-end solutions using React, Next.js, ensuring smooth integration using Backend For Frontend APIs and Service Domain models

Maintain security best practices: Implement security best practices in the platform ensuring robust protection against vulnerabilities and maintaining compliance with industry standards.
CI/CD with GitHub Actions: Build and maintain GitHub Actions pipelines for continuous integration and deployment, enabling fast and reliable feature delivery with minimal friction.
Perform code reviews: Review code submitted by other engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices, platform standards, and security guidelines. Provide constructive feedback and encourage continuous learning and improvement.
Collaborate on architecture: Lead discussions and decision-making on architecture with a team of passionate engineers. Be receptive to new ideas while maintaining a strong vision for the platform.
Deliver impactful solutions: Take ownership of key technical decisions and work with other engineers to ensure the platform is delivering value to CBA teams and ultimately to customers. Address blockers and help solve complex problems.
Mentor and guide engineers: Provide mentorship and guidance to junior and mid-level engineers, helping them develop their technical skills while maintaining a focus on quality, scalability, and performance.
Drive cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and back-end engineers to deliver features and improvements aligned with business objectives.
Essential Skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:
Experienced in frontend tech – Next.js
Experience in Backend tech - .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET, Spring Boot
Expertise with Microservices, Restful API design pattern
DevOps and CI/CD – TeamCity, GitHub Copilot
AWS Cloud – EC2, SNS, S3, Lambda, Certification is a must
DevOps and CI/CD – TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Grafana, Prometheus
AI & Machine learning and LLM knowledge is desired
Experience in Redux, Kafka, Banking domain is desired
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
